Will body oil help you tan?
Each oil has a very slight sun protective ability and some have been used for centuries for this purpose. However, I would not recommend using these oils to help you tan at all. With the sun being as incredibly strong as it is I would always recommend using proper sun protection and therefore protecting your skin from damage. What these oils can do is help repair your skin from sun damage, for example if you have got sunburnt, make sure the area has cooled down by using aloe vera gel initially and then you can apply a body oil to help repair the damage.
Is body oil better then lotion?
For some people absolutely, for others it may be another step. Oils add moisture to the skin, but they don´t hydrate. In order to hydrate you need water so a lotion would combine these two, that is why if you apply oils to damp skin you are in fact creating your own, very rudimentary, lotion. The oils help to keep water in the skin and help stop it from evaporating. They also contain high amounts of nutrients and plant properties. A lotion however will normally be comprised of over 60% water, on average, some are more, some are less, and oil is 100% oil so you are getting much more value in terms of rich, moisturising ingredients then with a lotion. But both are important products within skincare.
Can body oils be used for massage?
Absolutely and we, from personal experience, can tell you that they help elevate any massage. First decide the purpose of the massage. i.e. are your muscles killing you after a workout and you need to find some focus and concentration? (Reinvigorating Body Oil with Lavandin, Rosemary and Tea Tree). Do you want to utterly relax? Do you want to heat things up for sexy time ( Both Relaxing Body Oil with Lavander, Ylang Ylang and Lemon / ylang ylang is also an aphrodisiac). Do you want to feel like you are reconnecting with yourself and can put everything back into perspective (Revitalising Body Oil with Geranium, Patchouli and Grapefruit) or do you simply want to enjoy the luscious scent of cocoa and coconut (Tropical Body Oil with Coconut and Cacao)? All these can be achieved, obviously it helps if your elected masseur does a good job too!!! The oils can be worked into your skin beautifully leaving you feeling like a million dollars.
Where are your products manufactured?
All our products are manufactured at Flor y Amor HQ in San Miguel, Tenerife, The Canary Islands. The place we love calling home!
Does this soak in or leave a greasy residue on the skin?
The body oils do soak in quickly however we would advise waiting a couple of minutes before putting your clothes on, especially silk or satin. This of course is dependant on how much you apply and when you apply it. When applied to damp skin you will use less, when applied to dry skin you will use more. However, the skin feel is not greasy or tacky it simply absorbs quickly leaving a moisturised healthy glow.
What kind of results can I expect from using your body oil?
Body oils work really well to moisturise, they sink in quickly nourishing the skin. They also create a very light occlusive layer on the skin helping to protect it. Each body oil has the same base of sweet almond, coconut, hemp seed and avocado oils which have regenerative, protective and nutrient rich properties. All the body oils also contain calendula extract, which is very skin calming, they are designed to give a healing touch to your skin, so if you have any cuts, scrapes or bites expect them to heal that little bit faster. Each body oils offers slightly different properties depending on the essential oil blend in them. One is perfect to help ease muscles aches and pains(Reinvigorating), another is very relaxing(Relaxing), the other can help with circulation (Revitalising) and the other is perfect to use during pregnancy (Tropical).
